Easily Alice Cooper's best album. You can hear the distinct change in this effort as opposed to live @ the whisky. The band seemed sub-dued in a live performance, yet the next effort, a studio album, is harder with more energy.

"Love It To Death".This is a landmark album for the Alice Cooper group. With the breakthrough "i'm Eighteen" this was the album that got it all going.
"Caught in a Dream" is a nice little number to start the album with - it is one of my personal favourites. It has a nice tune to it and a catchy chorus. And a jiggy intro, I might add. "I'm Eighteen" was the breakthrough hit that saved them. It is one of shock rock's greatest breakthrough song's and will always be a favourite with me. "Long Way to Go" has a cool ring to it. It is a song that never really made it but should have got more than it did. "Black Juju" is a weird song, no denying it. It is kind of a mental thoughts song, if you get me. Nice drum work, though. "Is It My Body" has a sleazy, haunting ring to it. It has a catchy tune, a song that will stay in your mind for hours. But I love it. "Hallowed Be My Name" is not really in league with the other songs. It's alright, but something just doesn't click. "Second Coming" is like the one you just read. It's good, but... "Ballad of Dwight Fry".Hmmm. One of the best songs ever. The chorus has stayed in my mind since I first heard it. THIS IS A MUST HEAR FOR ALL COOP FANS. This really reflects the Alice felling. "Sun Arise"....catchy, but not a classic. All in all, "LOVE IT TO DEATH" is a must get for all the fans who want to get the best. If you know this album you can review it. |
