Eirik Solum (June 8, 2004)
Deep Purple's classic line up lasted originally from 1969 to 1974. When the same five performers announced their comeback ten years later it was headline news and with great anticipation.
Before they atarted the world tour they recorded a new studio album "Perfect Strangers". Though it did not sound like seventies Purple it became a big sucsess commercially and musically. Tunes only hard rock genious Rithie Blackmore and friends are capable of writing, playing and singing as good as Purple has ever performed along with new guts and spark, this albums is a must in every rock record collection. The irresistable intro, riff and fun of "Knoking at Your Back Door", the majestic and geniously composed titletrack, and the unbeatable solos of "Wasted Sunsets" are just parts of this true rock and roll masterpeice. "We gor rock and roll and there is nothing they can do," says Gillan in "A Gypsy's Kiss". There is nothing you can do: You'll have to get this one! Satisfaction guaranteed. If you know this album you can review it. |
