Philip David Charles Collins was born in January 30, 1951 in Chiswick, London, England. Phil Collins is one of the most successful pop singers of the '80s. From 1970 he was a drummer in the British art-rock band Genesis. In 1974, after lead former of the Genesis Peter Gabriel left the band, Phil Collins became a lead singer. Due to him Genesis became pop-rock band. He left Genesis in 1995. His solo career began in 1981, when "Face Value" was released, which turned out to be a bigger hit than any Genesis album. In the '80s most succesful were songs "In the Air Tonight" '81 and "You Can't Hurry Love" '82, album "No Jacket Required" - the winner of the 1985 Grammy for Pop Album of the Year. Album "But Seriously", spawning four hit singles including the Grammy winner "Another Day in Paradise", topped the charts on both sides of the Atlantic. From later releases the most memorable is "Testify's" hit single "Can't Stop Loving You" of 2002.
