5/10 Joseph W. Giannini (December 21, 2009)
My biggest gripe about 'The Hunter' was its muddled production. The last two Blondie albums contained some fine songs within their electic structure, but there was a notable drop in quality regarding the songwriting. This may possibly have been due to the fragmentation of the band and mounting pressures within the ranks. For me, "War Child,'with its Jackson 5 drive, should have been a single in the states, as it was overseas, as opposed to 'Island of Lost Souls,' which, although nice, is the first rehashed Blondie hit, with its 'Tide is High'cop-arrangement."For Your Eyes Only' should have been the James Bond theme, as it was perfectly suited to be, while 'English Boys', another contender for a single, was the group's most wistful tune, and a touching tribute to John Lennon. 'Danceway,' a song about them, harkens back to the fun Blondie sound of old.
Although the mood may have been obviously darker, what this album really needed was some more TLC.

Were Blind here Mr Spock What does it look like!
Answer-It looks alot like Deckers Planet Killer!
I caught this album by accident in a record store 1980s..Never
saw the promos or Hipe,,,It was just there...and thats how
the industry treated it...Its just there!
Its really not a bad Blondie Album...The extended version
of war child on a seperate single album is great too..
Island of lost souls is another classic blondie song.
This album holds the Auto American Album theme an its not bad..
Now remember for a year or so Eat to the Beat is gone The
Tide is high and Rapture are in so it sounded Ok..
Later we all would find the Album was a Contractual deal and the
Band was already in melt down..
