Lover of the Bayou [Live] (Levy/McGuinn) - 3:38
Catfish pie in gris gris bag
Iґm the lover of the bayou
Mark your doorstep with a half wet rag
Iґm the lover of the bayou
Raised and swam with the crocodile
Snake-eye taught me the Mojo style
Sucking weed on chicken bile
Iґm the lover of the bayou
I learned the key to the master look
I learned to float in the water clock
I learned to capture the lightning shock
Iґm the lover of the bayou
And I got catґs an' teeth and hair for sale
Iґm the lover of the bayou
Look out, look out, Baron Zombies on your tail
Iґm the lover of the bayou
I cooked the bat in the gumbo pan
I drank the blood, drank the blood from a rusty can
Turned me into the Honga man
Iґm the lover of the bayou
Positively 4th Street [Live] (Dylan) - 3:03
You got a lotta nerve
To say you are my friend
When I was down
You just stood there grinning
You got a lotta nerve
To say you gota helping hand to lend
You just want to be on
The side that's winning
You say I let you down
You know it's not like that
If you're so hurt
Why then don't you show it
You say you lost your faith
But that's not where it's at
You had no faith to lose
And you know it
I know the reason
That you talk behind my back
I used to be among the crowd
You're in with
Do you take me for such a fool
To think I'd make contact
With the one who tries to hide
What he don't know to begin with
You see me on the street
You always act surprised
You say, "How are you?" "Good luck"
But you don't mean it
When you know as well as me
You'd rather see me paralyzed
Why don't you just come out once
And scream it
No, I do not feel that good
When I see the heartbreaks you embrace
If I was a master thief
Perhaps I'd rob them
And now I know you're dissatisfied
With your position and your place
Don't you understand
It's not my problem
I wish that for just one time
You could stand inside my shoes
And just for that one moment
I could be you
Yes, I wish that for just one time
You could stand inside my shoes
You'd know what a drag it is
To see you
Nashville West [Live] (Parsons/White) - 2:07
Instrumental
So You Want to Be a Rock & Roll Star [Live] (Hillman/McGuinn) - 2:38
So you you want to be a rockґn roll star
then listen now to what I say
Just get an electric guitar
and take some time and learn how to play
And when your hair's combed right and your pants fit tight
itґs gonna be all right
Then itґs time to go down town
where the agent men wonґt let you down
Sell your soul to the company
who are waiting there to sell plastic ware
And in a week or two if you make the charts
the girls'll tear you apart
The price you pay for your riches and fame
Was it all a strange game
Youґre a little insane
The money that came and the public acclaim
Donґt forget what you are
Youґre a rockґn roll star
Mr. Tambourine Man [Live] (Dylan) - 2:13
Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me,
I'm not sleepy and there is no place I'm going to.
Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me,
In the jingle jangle morning I'll come followin' you.
Though I know that evenin's empire has returned into sand,
Vanished from my hand,
Left me blindly here to stand but still not sleeping.
My weariness amazes me, I'm branded on my feet,
I have no one to meet
And the ancient empty street's too dead for dreaming.
Take me on a trip upon your magic swirlin' ship,
My senses have been stripped, my hands can't feel to grip,
My toes too numb to step, wait only for my boot heels
To be wanderin'.
I'm ready to go anywhere, I'm ready for to fade
Into my own parade, cast your dancing spell my way,
I promise to go under it.
Though you might hear laughin', spinnin', swingin' madly across the sun,
It's not aimed at anyone, it's just escapin' on the run
And but for the sky there are no fences facin'.
And if you hear vague traces of skippin' reels of rhyme
To your tambourine in time, it's just a ragged clown behind,
I wouldn't pay it any mind, it's just a shadow you're
Seein' that he's chasing.
Then take me disappearin' through the smoke rings of my mind,
Down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves,
The haunted, frightened trees, out to the windy beach,
Far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow.
Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free,
Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands,
With all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves,
Let me forget about today until tomorrow.
Mr. Spaceman [Live] (McGuinn) - 3:07
Woke up this morning with light in my eyes
and then realized it was still dark outside
It was a light cominґdown from the sky
I donґt know who or why
Must be those strangers that come every night
Whose saucers shaped light put people up tight
Leave blue green footprints that glow in the dark
I hope they get home all right
Hey Mr.Spaceman, wonґt you please take me along
I wonґt do anything wrong
Hey Mr.Spaceman, wonґt you please take me along
for a ride
Woke up this morninґ, I was feeling quite weird
Had flies in my beer, my tooth paste was smeared
I opened my window, theyґd written my name
said: "So long, weґll see you again".
Hey Mr.Spaceman, wonґt you please take me along
I wonґt do anything wrong
Hey Mr.Spaceman, wonґt you please take me along
for a ride
Hey Mr.Spaceman, wonґt you please take me along
I wonґt do anything wrong
Hey Mr.Spaceman, wonґt you please take me along
for a ride
Eight Miles High [Live] (Clark/Crosby/McGuinn) - 16:07
Eight miles high and when you touch down
You'll find that it's stranger than known
Signs in the street that say where you're going
Are somewhere just being their own
Nowhere is there warmth to be found
Among those afraid of losing their ground
Rain gray town known for its sound
In places small faces unbound
Round the squares huddled in storms
Some laughing some just shapeless forms
Sidewalk scenes and black limousines
Some living, some standing alone
Chestnut Mare (Levy/McGuinn) - 5:11
Always alone never with a herd
Prettiest mare I've ever seen
You'll have to take my word
I'm gonna' catch that horse if I can
And when I do I'll give her my brand
And we'll be friends for life
She'll be just like a wife
I'm gonna' catch that horse if I can
Well I was up on Stony Ridge after this chestnut mare
I'd been chasin' her for weeks now. Oh, I'd catch a little glimpse
of her every once in a while; she'd be off takin' her meal, or bathin';
she was a real fine lady!
This one day I saw her standin' over there in a clearing,
so I snuck up to her nice and easy. I waited for the wind to blow
just the right way, and I got my rope out and I flung it in the air!
I'm gonna' catch that horse if I can
And when I do I'll give her my brand
And we'll be friends for life
She'll be just like a wife
I'm gonna' catch that horse if I can
Well I got her, and I'm pullin' on her, she's pullin' back
like a mule tryin' to climb up a ladder. I take this chance and
I jump up on her. Danged if I don't land right on top of her the
first time. Well she takes off, runnin' up on to that ridge, higher
than I've ever been before. We're runnin' along just fine, and then
she sees a sidewinder, all coiled up ready to strike. Well that
spooks her, and she jumps off the edge ...me holdin' on!
Above the clouds higher than eagles were gliding
Suspended in the sky
Over the moon, straight for the sun we were riding
My eyes were filled with light
Behind us black walls, below us a bottomless canyon
Floating with no sound
Gulls far below, seemed to be suddenly rising
Exploding all around
I'm gonna' catch that horse if I can
And when I do I'll give her my brand
And we'll be friends for life
She'll be just like a wife
I'm gonna' catch that horse if I can
And we were falling down this crevice, about a mile down there
I'd say! I look down and I see this red thing below us. Turned
out to be our reflection in a little pool of water, about six
feet wide, and only one foot deep, and we're comin' down at it!
Finally we hit and we splashed that pool dry. Well that's when
I lost my hold and she got away. But I'm never gonna' give up,
I'm gonna' get her again some day!
I'm gonna' catch that horse if I can
And when I do I'll give her my brand
And we'll be friends for life
She'll be just like a wife
I'm gonna' catch that horse
I'm gonna' catch that horse
I'm gonna' catch that horse if I can
I'm gonna' catch that horse if I can
Truck Stop Girl (George/Payne) - 3:24
His tail lights flickering as he pulled up to the truck stop
The same old crowd was hanging out again tonight
He said fill up my tank while I go check my load
It feels like itґs shifting all around
He was the kind of man, do all he could
Above all he had integrity
But he was so young and on a ten city run
In love with a truck stop girl
As he went inside he was memorily greeted
By the girl with whom he was in love
She held out a glass and said have another
This is the last time we can meet
With her hair piled up high and a look in her eye
That would turn any good manґs blood to wine
All his eyes could see, all his eyes could see
Was the stares from all these around him
He ran out to the lot and climbed into his rig
And drove off without tightening down
It was a terrible thing to see what remained
Of the rig that poor Danny was in
He was young and on a ten city run
In love with a truck stop girl
All the Things (Levy/McGuinn) - 3:08
See the sun how bright it is, it never was before
See the sun it shines right through my door but nooneґs there
I see warm smiles I never gave reflection in the air
All the things I want today, all the things I wasted on the way
See the earth how sweet it smells, I dnot know how it feels
See the earth it sleeps beneath my heels as I pass through
I see tears that I never shed in every drop of dew
All the things I want today, all the things I wasted on the way
Hear the sky singing the songs that I could have played
Too busy talking to prove that I was not afraid
See this dried up broken straw turning into rock
See this dried up broken straw forgotten and left behind
and see deeds that I never done are flowing in the wine
All the things I want today, all the things I wasted
All the things I want today, all the things I wasted
All the things I want today, all the things I wasted on the way
Yesterday's Train (Battin/Parsons) - 3:35
When you meet someone that you donґt know
but you know them just the same
you begin wondering if by chance it might be
an aquaintance from yesterdayґs train
Well thereґs something in her eyes that youґve seen before
maybe a memory or a mistress from another world
But you know the trees are green and the baby cries
from dust to dust, yet nothing dies
Youґll never know where we are in this endless place
or who we are in this endless space
But we know that the trees are green and the baby cries
from dust to dust, yet nothing dies
Yesterdayґs is rollinґ , can you touch it through the mist
Did you meet someone on yesterdayґs train
Can you tell it with a kiss
Can you tell it with a kiss
Hungry Planet (Ballin/Fowley/McGuinn) - 4:56
Iґm a hungry planet, I had a youthful face
They were in hurry to go to outer space
They needed bombs and tungsten, ore and iron too
So they climbed and they dug and they blew divided me right in two
Iґm a hungry planet orbiting in the sky
The things they did to hurt me pass on by and by
Now here I am all alone, they never ever learn
Well I had to shake and quake and make their houses burn
Iґm a hungry planet, I had the blueest seas
All the people kept chopping down all my finest trees
Poisening my oxygen, digginґ in my skin
Takinґ more out of my earth than theyґll ever put back in
Iґm a hungry planet
Just a Season (Levy/McGuinn) - 3:57
If all my days were hills to climb and circles without reason
If all I was was passing time my life was just a season
Tears and dreams and silly schemes and phillies running freely
I was young and no song was song that didnґt sound appealing
Iґd have my fun with a shy girl, then maybe hop a train
and I looked like Iґd been standing in the rain
Dirty hands and root beer stands and money like a river
Making deals to see how it feels to get more than youґre givinґ
Iґd have my fun with a gambling man and bluff him with my face
and itґs drinks for everybody in the place
If all my days were hills to climb and circles without reason
If all I was was passing time my life was just a season
Shouting crowds and mummy shrouds and people goinґ crazy
All we said was what was in their hands it surely was amazing
I had my fun in the bullring, I never got a scar
It really wasnґt hard to be a star
If all my days were hills to climb and circles without reason
If all I was was passing time my life was just a season
Take a Whiff on Me (Leadbelly/Lomax/Lomax) - 3:29
Take awhiff, take a whiff, take a whiff on me
Oh birdie take a whiff on me
Hey baby take a whiff on me
Went down to the corner 4th street and Main
Trying to get some good cocaine
Oh baby take a whiff on me
Cocaine for horses and not for men
Doctors say it kills you but he donґt know when
Hey baby take a whiff on me
You All Look Alike (Battin/Fowley) - 3:06
Starlight crossed my eyes, she took me by surprise
Said youґd come to town, last summer brought me down
I said Iґd never seen the likes of you before
She pulled a gun and not in fun Iґm dyinґ on the floor
You all look alike, Iґm sorry I donґt know
You all look alike, we never met before
Now matter how I try to say Iґve never been down this way
Said I couldnґt be fair cause you all look alike
Lyinґ here and dyinґ here Iґm trying to get my strength
Itґs so hard to get on back when youґre lyinґ at full length
All the crowds and all the dogs from miles around just stare
They looked at me and shed a tear, Iґm glad those people care
You all look alike, Iґm sorry I donґt know
You all look alike, we never met before
Now matter how I try to say Iґve never been down this way
Said I couldnґt be fair cause you all look alike
Welcome Back Home (Battin) - 7:40
Well come back home, well come back home
Well come back home, well come back home
If you wanna tell someone about it tell me, tell me
If you gotta tell someone about it tell me, tell me
I think that I'm afraid to hear it
I know you're afraid to say yes
Tell me anyway you can
Ah but don't tell your momma
I won't tell your papa
Well come back home, well come back home
Well come back home, well come back home
If you wanna tell someone about it tell me, tell me
If you gotta tell someone about it tell me, tell me
I know that I'm afraid to hear it
And I think that you're afraid to say it
Tell me how they kill a man
Ah but don't tell your momma
I won't tell papa
Well come back home, well come back home

Lover of the Bayou (Levy/McGuinn) - 5:14

Kathleen's Song (Levy/McGuinn) - 2:37
When I awake you will be gone
Shady tomorrow
I want to go, where will you be
So Iґll stay home letting my hair grow long
And I will be waiting for you
A fire burns, summer is gone
Winter is sorrow
And time donґt mean nothing to me
And only the hours listen to hear my song
And I will be walking in dew
And I will be waiting for you
Some people say love goes away
not mine
Four roses red for your cheeks I will borrow
and find romance for you to see
A surge of blue tells me your love is strong
Each spring my life is starting anew
And I will be waiting for you
White's Lightning, Pt. 2 (McGuinn/White) - 2:22
Instrumental
Willin' (George) - 3:32
I've been warped by the rain, driven by the snow
Drunk and dirty, donґt you know,
and I'm still - willin'.
And I was out on the road late at night
Seen my pretty Alice in evґry headlight
Alice - Dallas Alice.
And I've been from Tucson to Tucumcari, Tahachapi to Tournapaw.
Iґve driven ev'ry kind of righ that's ever been made,
driven the backroads so I wouldnґt get weighed.
And if you give me - weed, whites, and wine,
and you show me a sign, I'll be willin' - to be movin'.
Kicked by the wind, dropped by the sleet
Had my mead stoved in, but Iґm still on my feet,
and I'm still - (in a whole lot of trouble).
Smuggled some smokes, some folks from Mexico.
Baked by the sun - evґry time I go to Mexico.
And Iґm still ...
And Iґve been ...
You Ain't Goin' Nowhere [Live] (Dylan) - 2:56
Clouds so swift
Rain won't lift
Gate won't close
Railings froze
Get your mind off wintertime
You ain't goin' nowhere
Whoo-ee! Ride me high
Tomorrow's the day
My bride's gonna come
Oh, oh, are we gonna fly
Down in the easy chair!
I don't care
How many letters they sent
Morning came and morning went
Pick up your money
And pack up your tent
You ain't goin' nowhere
Whoo-ee! Ride me high
Tomorrow's the day
My bride's gonna come
Oh, oh, are we gonna fly
Down in the easy chair!
Buy me a flute
And a gun that shoots
Tailgates and substitutes
Strap yourself
To the tree with roots
You ain't goin' nowhere
Whoo-ee! Ride me high
Tomorrow's the day
My bride's gonna come
Oh, oh, are we gonna fly
Down in the easy chair!
Genghis Khan
He could not keep
All his kings
Supplied with sleep
We'll climb that hill no matter how steep
When we get up to it
Whoo-ee! Ride me high
Tomorrow's the day
My bride's gonna come
Oh, oh, are we gonna fly
Down in the easy chair!
Old Blue [Live] (McGuinn) - 3:30
Well I had an old dog and his name was Blue
Yes I had an old dog and his name was Blue
Well I had an old dog and his name was Blue
I bet you five dollars heґs a good dog too
Old Blue chased a possum up a holler limb
Blue chased a possum up a holler limb
Blue chased a possum up a holler limb
The possum growled, Blue whined at him
Bye Bye Blue, you good dog you
Bye Bye Blue, you good dog you
When old Blue died he died so hard
He shook the ground in my back yard
We lowered him down with a golden chain
and every link we called his name
My old Blue was a good old hound
Youґd hear him holler miles around
When I get to heaven first thing Iґll do
is grab my horn and call for Blue
It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding) [Live] (Dylan) - 2:48
Darkness at the break of noon
Shadows even the silver spoon
The handmade blade, the child's balloon
Eclipses both the sun and moon
To understand you know too soon
There is no sense in trying.
Pointed threats, they bluff with scorn
Suicide remarks are torn
From the fool's gold mouthpiece
The hollow horn plays wasted words
Proves to warn
That he not busy being born
Is busy dying.
Temptation's page flies out the door
You follow, find yourself at war
Watch waterfalls of pity roar
You feel to moan but unlike before
You discover
That you'd just be
One more person crying.
So don't fear if you hear
A foreign sound to your ear
It's alright, Ma, I'm only sighing.
As some warn victory, some downfall
Private reasons great or small
Can be seen in the eyes of those that call
To make all that should be killed to crawl
While others say don't hate nothing at all
Except hatred.
Disillusioned words like bullets bark
As human gods aim for their mark
Made everything from toy guns that spark
To flesh-colored Christs that glow in the dark
It's easy to see without looking too far
That not much
Is really sacred.
While preachers preach of evil fates
Teachers teach that knowledge waits
Can lead to
Goodness hides behind it's gates
But even the president of the United States
Sometimes must have
To stand naked.
An' though the rules of the road have been lodged
It's only people's games that you got to dodge
And it's alright, Ma, I can make it.
Advertising signs that con you
Into thinking you're the one
That can do what's never been done
That can win what's never been won
Meantime life outside goes on
All around you.
You lose yourself, you reappear
You suddenly find you got nothing to fear
Alone you stand with nobody near
When a trembling distant voice, unclear
Startles your sleeping ears to hear
That somebody thinks
They really found you.
A question in your nerves is lit
Yet you know there is no answer fit to satisfy
Insure you not to quit
To keep it in your mind and not forget
That it is not he or she or them or it
That you belong to.
Although the masters make the rules
For the wise men and the fools
I got nothing, Ma, to live up to.
For them that must obey authority
That they do not respect in any degree
Who despise their jobs, their destinies
Speak jealously of them that are free to be
Nothing more than something
They invest in.
While some on principles baptized
To strict party platform ties
Social clubs in drag
Outsiders they can freely criticize
Tell nothing except who to idolize
And then say God bless him.
While one who sings with his tongue on fire
Gargles in the rat race choir
Bent out of shape from society's pliers
Cares not to come up any higher
But rather get you down in the hole
That he's in.
But I mean no harm nor put fault
On anyone that lives in a vault
But it's alright, Ma, if
I can't please him.
Old lady judges watch people in pairs
Limited in sex, they dare
To push fake morals, insult and stare
While money doesn't talk, it swears
Obscenity, who really cares Propaganda, all is phony.
While them that defend what they cannot see
With a killer's pride, security
It blows the minds most bitterly
For them that think death's honesty
Won't fall upon them naturally
Life sometimes
Must get lonely.
My eyes collide head-on with stuffed graveyards
False gods, I scuff
At pettiness which plays so rough
Walk upside-down inside handcuffs
Kick my legs to crash it off
Say okay, I have had enough
What else can you show me?
And if my thought-dreams could be seen
They'd probably put my head in a guillotine
But it's alright, Ma, it's life, and life only.
Ballad of Easy Rider [Live] (McGuinn) - 2:21
The river flows, it flows to the sea
Wherever that river goes thatґs where I want to be
Flow river flow, let your waters wash down
Take me from this road to some other town
All they wanted was to be free
and thatґs the way it turned out to be
Flow river flow, let your waters wash down
Take me from this road to some other town
Flow river flow, pass the shady tree
Go river go, go to the sea
Flow to the sea
My Back Pages [Live] (Dylan) - 2:41
Crimson flames tied through my ears
Throwin' high and mighty traps
Countless fire and flaming road
Using ideas as my maps
"We'll meet on edges, soon," said I
Proud 'neath heated brow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.
Half-wracked prejudice leaped forth
"Rip down all hate," I screamed
Lies that life is black and white
Spoke from my skull. I dreamed
Romantic flanks of musketeers
Foundation deep, somehow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.
In a soldier's stance, I aimed my hand
At the mongrel dogs who teach
Fearing not I'd become my enemy
In the instant that I preach
My pathway led by confusion boats
Mutiny from stern to bow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now
My guard stood hard when abstract threats
Too noble to neglect
Deceived me into thinking
I had something to protect
Good and bad, I define these terms
Quite clear, no doubt, somehow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.
Take a Whiff on Me [Live] (Leadbelly/Lomax/Lomax) - 2:45
Take awhiff, take a whiff, take a whiff on me
Oh birdie take a whiff on me
Hey baby take a whiff on me
Went down to the corner 4th street and Main
Trying to get some good cocaine
Oh baby take a whiff on me
Cocaine for horses and not for men
Doctors say it kills you but he donґt know when
Hey baby take a whiff on me
Jesus Is Just Alright [Live] (Reynolds) - 3:09
Jesus is just alright with me
Jesus is just alright oh yeah
Jesus is just alright with me
Jesus is just alright
I donґt care what they may know
I donґt care where they may go
I donґt care what they may know
Jesus is just alright
I donґt care what they may say
I donґt care what they may do
I donґt care what they may say
Jesus is just alright oh yeah
Jesus is just alright
This Wheel's on Fire [Live] (Danko/Dylan) - 6:16
If your mem'ry serves you well,
We were goin' to meet again and wait,
So I'm goin' to unpack all my things
And sit before it gets too late.
No man alive will comfort you
With another tale to tell,
But you know that we shall meet again
If your mem'ry serves you well.
This wheel's on fire,
Rolling down the road,
Best notify my next of kin,
This wheel shall explode!
If your mem'ry serves you well,
I was goin' to confiscate your lace,
And wrap it up in a sailor's knot
And hide it in your case.
If I knew for sure that it was yours . . .
But it was oh so hard to tell.
But you knew that we would meet again,
If your mem'ry serves you well.
This wheel's on fire,
Rolling down the road,
Best notify my next of kin,
This wheel shall explode!
If your mem'ry serves you well,
You'll remember you're the one
That called on me to call on them
To get you your favors done.
And after ev'ry plan had failed
And there was nothing more to tell,
You knew that we would meet again,
If your mem'ry served you well.
This wheel's on fire,
Rolling down the road,
Best notify my next of kin,
This wheel shall explode!
