Stephen McQuaid (April 12, 2004)
This was the last of the truly great Genesis albums. Not that Genesis-Genesis, Invisible Touch, & We Can't Dance don't have great moments, but Abacab was an exclamation point at the end of a Chapter in a great book. It is a diverse album with classic epics like Dodo/Lurker, Keep It Dark, & Me & Sara Jane that are as good as it gets from the Phil era of Genesis. They are countered by the pop smarts of songs such as "No Reply At All" and "Man on the Corner" that would be further developed to pop perfection in the next three albums. Abacab is not to be missed.
