Hendrix IS GOD
John (February 26, 2005)
Best music ever made. Beats anything out there. Theres only 1 dud like song. The master guitar playing makes these songs. Its just bueatiful. Ive listened to Led ZeppJimmy Page, doesn't do anything of this magnitude. Nothing as... groovy, listenable, and hypnotizing. Even though Jimi may notbeastechnically good as guys like JP, Eric Clapton, and quite a few others; he answers that with smooth, sexy playing. He wants to get you hyped up and dancing around playing a imaginary guitar(I know you do).
"Changes" is the perfect example forthis. Its like the beginning of Voodoo Child but a faster, more funky version, throughout the song. "Who Knows" is a briliant idea, where Miles makes these crazy noises with his mouth for at least a minute straight, than Jimi comes back afterwards trying to make his guitar sound like Miles. Its so groovy. "Power to Love" has 1 of the coolest openings ever, where theres a few licks on the guitar blues style in the beginning, than theres kind of a pause, than boom Miles screams at same time Jimi starts his guitar solo, which is 1 of the most amazing soloes I've heard, it just explodes into your ears, and keeps you awing as it slowly calms down. Ive finally found a song with a tune RATM or Audioslave copied. Youll see.. "Message of Love" is aight, I mostly just like the solo. Heck, all the soloes make the songs. "We Gotta Live Together" is sort of a dud. The first half is kind of a build up for whats to come, a crazy guitar solo. Jimi proves he can play pretty fast on this solo, but I dont know, it just doesnt sound right for some reason. The recording isnt as good as the others, although maybe I could have gotten 1 of the bad versions of the song... still cant wait till I can blast it on my radio. "Machine Gun" is a BEAST. It blows away every song in the books when it comes to creative aw inspiringguitar work done by Jimi. Its about a battle in Vietnam. He creates a battlefield with his guitar. Machine guns, planes, bombs... how cool is that? I havent seen any covers of this song because its just that good. There is a downside to it though. Its not as hip, funky, or groovy as the other songs, so you might have to be in a certain mood to listen to it. Most awesome solo ever. Hands down. Not even your imaginary guitar at home can play it. Buy it. Burn it. Do whatever you want. Just find some way to listen to it. Than go get yourself everything else by Jimi, but none of it is as good as this I tell you what.

Well after listening to most of his stuff quite extensively,i've come to the conclusion that Band of Gypsies is by far a step ahead of the rest by about ten years. This live recording reaches out and grabs your spine and begins to unleash this wow effect which can cause you to cry an shiver all at the same time.Machine Gun in particular is a musical labryinth of blues and jimi phasing in an out like a coma while all is said an done you are left ,no less numb.Jimi Hendrix and his Band of Gypsies the quintesential album of his era defines the mood, explores the bounds of music, and became the great mentors of there time.
