Singalong Junk

Average song rating Originally take one of Junk, on which Paul added mellotron and percussion in an overdub. Somehow this version sounds more complete than Junk and it almost sounds as a soundtrack for a film. I prefer this version. The piano gives the song a nice touch here. Bobber April 6, 2012

Average song rating Most Beatle fans know the story of "Yesterday"--Paul's little miracle of a melody to which he gave the temporary lyric, "Scrambled Egg / Oh my darling how I love your legs..." until he was able to write a more suitable lyric. This song, "Junk", seems to have suffered the fate of being released while it was still in its "Scrambled Eggs" phase. It is a magnificent melody, and Paul had had it in his pocket for at least a couple of years (it failed to make the cut for the White Album). I would bet money that the lyrics we know for this song were meant to be provisional lyrics, but Paul either got impatient or simply couldn't come up with better lyrics.
