Linda as a lead singer for the first time, in the second verse. Not very convincing, but she's in tune. I like this song enough to not skip it when I was listening to this album over and over. The recorder is a nice little touch. Denny's drumming is good, he almost sounds like Ringo here. Didn't I say that before? |

I would wager that 75% of folks who consider themselves McCartney/Wings fans have the barest knowledge of this song. "I Am Your Singer" was, nevertheless, an important track, as it serves the dual purpose of (1) Expressing Paul's mission statement for forming the group Wings in the line "We will fly away, going Winging, sing singing my love song to you". And (2), this is his musically inexperienced wife's Great Moment in this debut album. Linda is at the frontline in "I Am Your Singer" more so than in any other Wings track (excepting, of course, "Cook of the House"). She is quite pleasant to listen to because she never pretends to be any more than a photographer who sings for fun, which means she sounds straightforward and sincere, never trying to stylize or impress. She sings in a surprising Southern twang belying her Queens NY upbringing, and is best feature of a song which is not really one of Paul's better compositions. |

Lyrics
You are my love, you are my song, liger on,
You are my song, I am your singer.
You are my one, you are my own melody,
You are my song, I am your singer.
Someday when we're singing
We will fly away, going winging.
Sing, singing my love song to you.
My song is sung,
When day is done harmonies willinger on,
I am your singer,
I am your singer,
Singing my love song to you.
