An enjoyable and idealistic song that unfortunately leaves itself wide open for lampooning. The melody is very compelling and Paul, along with Linda's "oh yeah's", sings with great earnestness and conviction: C'Mon People! We're gonna save the world! How do Paul and Linda propose to do this? Well, that's where this song loses me...Paul never gets any more specific than exhortations to "Let the fun begin", "Call all the minstrels", "Form a Party" (I don't think Paul is meaning a political party). This song fades out...then fades back in with the "Cosmically Conscious" coda. This is a wonderful moment, as the music is wonderfully, painfully reminiscent of the Moody Blues when they were Cosmically Conscious. |
