A gloriously soaring and majestic love song, one of the best songs Paul has ever written. John Lennon's wonderful "Woman" had the power to cause me to reconsider and change my feelings toward Yoko Ono, and this song persuaded me that Heather Mills must be something more than just a hot blond model to inspire this magnificent song. Now it is 2007 and what can I say? I wonder if it's possible for Paul McCartney to even hear this song and not cringe at the personal wreckage and the embarrassment of seeing his face all over the gossip rags. Sad. Maybe he saw it coming...did you ever notice the ghastly irony of the lyric "There will I stay for a year and a day..."? |
