The story gets going with this song, when Tommy becomes autistic due to some trauma which the song from the original album is very vague about. The movie Tommy makes this trauma much easier to understand, as it involves the re-appearance of Tommy's father who was MIA and a confrontation with Mrs. Walker's new boyfriend.
